After decades in dementia care, including founding Dementia Care Specialists and serving as an occupational therapist since 1989, this moment feels both meaningful and deeply reflective. Kim's journey has always been guided by a sense of calling—to people, to places, and to the work itself. And now, that same sense of calling is leading her into this next chapter.
Kim also reflects on the experiences that shaped her path, including the impact of Claudia Allen’s Cognitive Disabilities Model, which reinforces a strength-based approach rooted in dignity, understanding, and what remains possible.
