- Start by having a Dementia Capable Care (DCC) Certified Instructor on staff to train your team in our DCC 2nd Edition program.
- Team members who complete this training and earn their Dementia Capable Care Specialist (DCCS) Credential will can gain access to our new DCC Learning Library - a resource designed to strengthen DCC skills and use DCC to address real-world care challenges.
Training shouldn’t be a one-time thing. When you invest in Dementia Capable Care, you invest in lasting results: build skills for a more knowledgeable team and better outcomes. It’s also important for your team to grow their DCC skills over time.
Who Is It For - and Why Does It Matter?
This new learning library is a valued added benefit exclusively offered to organizations with one or more Dementia Capable Care (DCC) Certified Instructors, who are training their staff in DCC 2nd edition. (offered at no additional cost; some conditions apply).
It’s designed for staff who have completed DCC 2nd Edition training. The DCC Learning library offers continued learning through new, focused microlearnings that build confidence, skills, and deepen their understanding of DCC core concepts.

- Credential renewal support: Classes in the library can count toward renewal of the DCC Specialist (DCCS) Credential, keeping your team growing and engaged. (a DCCS credential renewal fee would apply).
- Saves DCC Certified Instructors' time: Staff can watch short, on-demand training videos, making DCC continued learning easier than ever.
- Supports compliance: The library may help meet dementia care training requirements while reinforcing your commitment and ability to deliver high quality dementia care.

*DCC Learning Library to renew a Dementia Capable Care Specialist Credential: Those who earned a Dementia Capable Care Specialist (DCCS) Credential can renew their credential every one or two years (an organization decision) by:
- Taking DCC2e training again (must purchase a workbook or blended seat)
- NEW OPTION: Taking short microlearning courses from the DCC Learning Library (a DCCS credential renewal fee applies)
OPTIONS: To renew using the DCC Learning Library, must complete a minimum of approximately 3 hours of training. This can be accomplished in three ways:
- Take three Complete (Part 1 and Part 2) Microlearning classes = Approx 3 hours
- Take a Combination of Microlearning classes (Complete Part 1 and Part 2 or some Part 1 only) = Approx. 3 hours
- Advanced Content for Rehab (Therapists and Nursing) Professionals: Take the complete (Part 1 and Part 2) Functional Cognitive Assessment and Intervention (A Critical Role for Occupational Therapy and Other Rehab Professionals) class = Approx. 3 hours

Flexible, Bite-Size Training with a Big Impact.
Our new DCC microlearnings are built for real-world use - powerful, practical, and easy to deliver. Most courses are built in two parts, as follows:
Part 1: Learn the Topic (15–25 minutes)
Staff who completed DCC2e can access the instructional video:
- Watch on their own (tablet, phone, or desktop)
- Or watch as a group, led by your DCC Certified Instructor
Part 2: Apply What You Learned (about 30 minutes)
Optional, instructor-led inservices using the Instruction Guide/ Guidance document that reinforces the topic with practical tools and guidance. It may include one or more downloadable takeaway tools.
Flexible Continued Learning for DCC-Trained Staff - You’re in Control
Your organization gets to decide who takes which courses when they take them, and why, based on your goals and needs.This value-add library includes high-quality continued learning, and you choose how your DCC2e trained staff use it.
- Assign microlearning courses to those trained in DCC2e based on the specific goals of the team member, or the challenges your organization is facing.
- Choose whether a staff member completes just Part 1 (the video) or both Part 1 and Part 2 (the instructor-led application activity).
- Microlearning courses can be taken in any order that works for your team.
Dementia Capable Care (DCC) Training Now Offering a Value-Added DCC Continued Learning Library to Help Supplement Your Ongoing Learning Needs
You choose the topics in the library that best support your dementia care and staff development goals, whether it's:

How to Access It and Cost
If your organization employs at least one DCC Certified Instructor who is training your staff in DCC2e, your organization can receive a free, one-year subscription to the DCC Learning Library—just meet the criteria and sign the agreement. NOTE: Successful completion of a certain number of classes in the DCC Learning Library can qualify for renewal of a Dementia Capable Care Specialist (DCCS) Credential. A credential renewal fee will apply.
- Every Certified Instructor in good standing, working for that organization, can get access.
- Any staff in that organization who have completed full DCC2e training and hold a DCCS Credential (blue card) are eligible to use the library.
This discretionary subscription can automatically renew each year as long as your organization continues to meet the requirements, including having at least one active CI who is training DCC in your organization, and adhering to the terms.
Note: If a CI leaves or your organization no longer meets the rules, access is must be deactivated. It's your responsibility to deactivate accounts for employees or CIs who leave.

Organizations with a Dementia Capable Care (DCC) Certified Instructor will can gain access to several microlearning classes designed to reinforce and build upon core concepts taught in the Dementia Capable Care (DCC) training program. (NOTE: Library is a value-add and discretionary. Rules apply.)
Content may be refreshed or new microlearnings added to help maintain relevance. Organizations are also encouraged to submit topic requests for consideration.
